Hello, I'm Meagan!

I am the healthcare provider behind Primary Care Solutions, and your course instructor!

I developed this e-course for Nurse Practitioners, Physicians and Primary Healthcare Providers because I know how valuable these minor surgery skills are to my own practice.

Join me in advancing your skill set, working to your full scope of practice, and meeting the needs of your community... all from the comfort of your home office!

Our courses are comprehensive and interactive! We integrate creative exercises that follow along with the modules so you have a chance to practice all the minor surgery skills presented.

The course requires 8-10 hours to move through the content and complete the associated practice activities.

You will have access to Office Hours. Two Zoom coaching calls with an experienced instructor for a chance to ask questions and review minor procedure skills in real-time.

On registration, you will receive a login for immediate access and a procedure kit will be mailed to you.

This course is on-demand, which means you can start straight away. We’re here to support you as you work at your own speed.

How it works:

Minor Procedures E-Course

Here's what we will cover:

Anesthesia: Detailed theory and direction for making sure your surgical field is frozen, so your patient doesn't feel a thing!  An in-depth review of products to use, dosing, contraindications and complications.  Infiltration techniques, field blocks and nerve blocks.

Suturing: This is NOT your basic suturing course!  We teach you 6 different suturing  techniques for wound closure and when to use them.  We also review how to choose sutures for different areas of the body and cover how providers can reduce scars through technique.

Skin Biopsy: We cover shave biopsy, punch biopsy and excisional biopsy in detail.  We also review how to prepare your specimen to keep the pathology department happy!

Nails Procedures: Subungual hematoma, total nail avulsion and wedge resections.  Tips and tricks for triage and referrals.

Pokes: How to manage ganglion cyst, bursitis and abscesses - through aspiration, and incision and drainage techniques.

Cyst and Lipoma removal: Integrate surgical and suturing skills from throughout the workshop to learn how to remove small to medium epidermoid cysts and lipomas in your primary practice.

But that's not all...

Summary Sheets: At the end of each module you will receive fillable summary sheets which include all the essential information you will want quick access to in a busy practice.

Office Hours: Have 1:1 access to an instructor by booking through the e-course calendar.  Have any questions answered or request feedback on your minor procedure techniques.

I would highly recommend the minor surgical course that Primary Care Solutions offers. I was part of a virtual class which was very convenient as I reside in Alberta. The content was relevant to practice and easy to follow. The demonstration videos are detailed and provide a great visual to follow when attempting the procedures at home with the supplies provided. I work in Northern Canada and have already performed a number of the procedures learned in the course. I was glad to have done this course as I had confidence in my knowledge and skillset when performing the procedures. I look forward to attending more of the courses offered such as the one on joint injections.
